BodyGeometry Fit

Mt Eden Cycles is extremely proud to offer all our customers a BodyGeometry Fit Service.

Whether you’re just starting out as a rider or a seasoned professional like Levi, having a poor fit can greatly affect the quality and

enjoyment of your ride. While there are many fit services to choose from, BodyGeometry Fit is the most comprehensive fit system

available to all riders, regardless of experience level or even the brand of bike they choose to ride. It goes beyond the basics offered

by competitors, and is an individualized, scientifically proven system focusing on all aspects of a rider’s position.  Designed specifically

to help cyclists ride faster, longer, in greater comfort, and with less chance of injury, BodyGeometry Fit has been developed through

years of co-operation with Dr. Andy Pruitt, Ed.D., PA of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, and is available only through

Specialized dealers.

Mt Eden Cycles have two staff who are trained to perform BodyGeometry Fits.  Both Mark and Richard are accredited technicians

and in Richard's case he has taken it one step further and passed the Masters level of this qualification.  Richard has performed

hundreds of fits to all types of cyclists over many years, gaining an extensive knowledge built on a sound mix of formal

qualification and experience.

What to Expect and Bring

A Body Geometry Fit is an extremely thorough process that can take up to 3 hours. You will need to bring your bike and riding kit including your cycling shoes.

The Body Geometry Bike Fit PROCESS

1. Pre-Fit Interview

Every fit, whether you’re a novice or experienced cyclist- starts with a brief interview between your trained technician and you to assess and understand your injury history, your needs and your goals.

2. Flexibility Assignment

This evaluation allows your technician to gain an accurate picture of your flexibility and other physical attributes. It includes assessing your foot structure, knee position, spinal curve, shoulder extension, hip flexion and leg length, among others.

3. Side View

Your technician will assess your riding via side view. The goal is to deliver a correct neutral position that's both powerful and comfortable through adjustments to seat height, handlebar height, stem length and cleat position.

4. Front View

Your technician will analyse you from a frontal view also to optimize your hip, knee and foot alignment for greater performance and balanced power delivery. Included will be an analysis of pedal and shoe placement and your squareness on the saddle.

5. Follow Up

After a week or so, your technician will call to discuss the effectiveness of the adjustments and to answer any other questions or concerns you may have. Any necessary follow up appointments are included in the initial fee.

Testimonials from Body Geometry Fit customers at Mt Eden Cycles

1.  Richard did a full Specialized Body Geometry fit for me. With his help I gained a much more comfortable and aero position, fewer post-ride aches, an immediate 15W power gain at a constant heart rate in my aerobic endurance zone, and a c.2kph gain, over a three hour test course.    In part the increase in speed was attributable to the excellent increase in power, although the changes to positioning were the greatest contributor as they facilitated an aero position which was much more sustainable and effective."

2.  After slugging away for over a year on my new bike I booked in for a BG Bike fit.

I found it an incredibly comprehensive and thorough analysis of my physical state and how that related to my position on the bike. I couldn't believe the difference it has made to my power delivery and comfort.  I would highly recommend that everyone does this, as it's value for money when you consider the Physio's or Specialist's is where I would have ended up without resolving my previous setup.  Geoff

3.  All good thank you. Wish I had come to you sooner!  Only been for one ride of half an hour so far and definitely felt like a big improvement. Few more shorter rides and 28 min up scenic drive here I come!!!   Gavin
